HealthWell Foundation

The HealthWell Foundation® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2003 that is committed to addressing the needs of individuals with insurance who cannot afford their copayments, coinsurance, and premiums for important medical treatments. Their vision is to ensure that no patient goes without health care because they cannot afford it.

As patients are required to pay a larger share of health care costs each year, even many individuals with insurance find health care unaffordable. These patients face challenges affording the treatments they need to fight chronic and life-altering medical conditions. The HealthWell Foundation was established to address and help alleviate this problem.

• 3 in 10 did not fill a prescription due to cost

My wife and I are sponsoring a child through World Vision

In the past, my wife and I sponsored children through Compassion International. This year, we're sponsoring a child in China through World Vision. This girl lives in a poor rural community in China and her father works as a farmer. Sponsorship through World Vision provides this girl with clean water, immunizations, annual health checkups, and scholarships for education and training. Plus, World Vision also provides training in nutrition and agriculture to parents.

Organizations like World Vision and Compassion International provide many opportunities to support children who are living in poverty.

World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.

This year, Google has really created an innovative Social Good campaign. Anyone who uses the Chrome Browser and downloads the Chrome for a Cause extension, will be able to help one of five charities.

Here’s how it works. Browse the internet using the Google Chrome browser with the extension installed. Open a new tab for every site you go to. That’s it.

The Chrome for a Cause extension cleverly tracks the amount of tabs you open and allows you to donate to one of five charities at the end of the day based on your usage.
