Live chat with volunteer physicians in Haiti

On Friday, February 19 from 8:00-9:00PM (EST), Enoch Choi, MD, and Jan Gurley, MD, will discuss—live from Haiti—their experiences as volunteers having provided medical care for 5 days to the survivors of the earthquake that struck the Caribbean nation on January 12. The two physicians will answer questions that cover the who, what, when, where, why, and how of providing post-disaster care.

Registered attendees will be encouraged to ask questions throughout the live chat.

Enoch Choi, MD
MDNG board member Enoch Choi, MD, has two young children and a darling wife of many years. He's a full-time family medicine physician practicing urgent care as a partner at Palo Alto Medical Foundation, where he sees patients in clinic, as well as online via PHR. He is an advisor to and answers questions at MedHelp.org. He has an active EMR consulting practice for past clients such as Sutter Health, Misys, GE/Medicalogic/Medscape, and is a member of an AHRQ grant review panel on Health IT comparative effectiveness. Choi serves on the boards of YCIS-Silicon Valley, PAFMG Endowment, Palo Alto Community Fund, Palo Alto Menlo Park Parents Club, Abundant Life Christian Fellowship Medical Ministry, Menlo Park Presbyterian Church Medical Missions, MDNG, and the Health2.0 conference.

Jan Gurley, MD
Dr. Jan Gurley, a board-certified internist physician, is the only Harvard Medical School graduate, ever, to have been awarded a Shoney's Ten-Step Pin for documented excellence in waitressing. She brings a wry humor and hard-nosed practicality to health topics of all kinds (treatment, research, trends, and politics) at her website: Doc Gurley, Posts from an Insane Healthcare System [www.docgurley.com].
