Do you know anyone who's donated a kidney? How about a kidney transplant recipient? CNN recently had a story about 13 patients who received kidney transplants through a series of paired donations. The Alliance for Paired Donation has a great tagline: "Serving kidney patients through technology, education, and generosity." It's great to see how technology is making it easier for individuals to donate and receive kidneys in this country. Thanks, Dr. Kim, for your post about this story. It is so exciting to see what can be accomplished by hospitals willing to invest the time and effort in putting together exchanges such as these. Hats off to Georgetown Hosp. and Washington Hosp. for this logistical triumph that allowed 13 people to get a new kidney.
