If you scrape your knee, your skin grows back. If you damage cartilage, does it grow back? Not usually. Thanks to some advances in nanotechnology, it may be possible to regenerate cartilage. In this image on the right, mesenchymal stem cells are grown on a scaffold of nanofibers. Biomedical researchers are constantly looking at ways to utilize nanotechnology to advance healthcare.
