Basis fitness tracker - more than a watch

The Basis fitness tracker watch is a new device that's entering the Quantified Self (QS) space.

I've been following the Basis fitness tracker for some time now. It's more than a watch with a built-in motion sensor. This device measures motion, heart rate (optical blood flow), skin perspiration, skin temperature, and more. It's also Bluetooth enabled and you can wear it during your sleep to quantify your sleep. Don't plan to swim with this device though since it's not waterproof.

I'm eager to see how accurately this device can measure heart rate. Right now, you'll see some fitness buffs wearing heart rate monitoring straps when they run or use the treadmill at the gym. Major fitness machine manufacturers integrate with heart rate monitoring straps made by companies like Polar, Garmin, Suunto, and others.
