HIMSS is definitely a party compared to conferences where the majority of companies are pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies that adhere to the PhRMA Code. The health IT industry is way behind the pharmaceutical industry when it comes to things like giving gifts, serving wine and beer, etc. Then again, the majority of HIMSS attendees are not physicians, so maybe that's why these companies are slower to adopt some of these guidelines.
