Hostile audiences at health care forum

I'm afraid that things are really going to get out of control soon. All these debates and civil discussions about healthcare reform may eventually turn into violent crime scenes. I really hope that doesn't happen, but it's hard to think otherwise when you see a story on CNN that says: "Specter faces hostile audience at health care forum"

A hostile crowd shouted questions and made angry statements Tuesday at a town hall meeting on health care in Pennsylvania led by Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter... The shoving incident occurred early in the 90-minute session when a man started shouting that he had been told by Specter's staff that he could speak, but he didn't get one of the 30 cards distributed to people allowing them to ask questions. Another man stood up and shoved the protester, and Specter approached the men shouting for calm.

Watch this video to see all the shouting, shoving, and big security officers standing by:

  1. Yet another major topic to split Americans. Speaking of which, why aren't we seeing states starting to take action? Should those of us who don't agree with socialism stop paying taxes altogether and let the Obamaroids pay the bills? They can't put us all in jail!

  2. The government was never to touch Social Security but somehow they needed it to fund their own interests. Who's to say the current and future governments won't use medicare funds to pay off the debt? The only party to rescue us from years and current ideology is the Libertarian Party!

  3. Yet another big money backed temper tantrum for fools to propagate.

Please, please. All we ask for is a civil discussion. If all you can resort to are sponsored talking point and outright lies, then you are not helping the democratic process.

Calling something socialist does not make it socialist.

Lets see how well you do without disaster relief, medicare, unemployment and the army. Would you call them socialist?

  4. Left-winged idiocrates again trying to control the press. Fox News covered the Spector townhall meeting from start to finish. Sure, there were a couple of "passionate" outbursts, but to label these as hostile is ludicrous and totally misleading. Your article leads readers to believe that everyone at the meeting were hot-tempered and angry. Please, I saw much of the discussion on live tv, not your little sound bite. This man was actually angry because he was "shut out" of the discussion, it wasn't over the topic being discussed. Come on liberaloid, this is free-speech at it best. Pelosites are screaming that the public debate and outrage taking place across our country is "astro turf". Political mumbo-jumbo from the left. This "hostile" (your words-not mine) reaction to Obama's healthcare takeover agenda is not going away any time soon, no matter how hard you idiocrats attempt to paint freedom loving Americans as right-wing anti-American mobsters. "Give me liberty or give me death!"

  5. In the 70's Ronald Reagan said ..."If we pass Medicare this country will be socialist in 10? years" Yes, the GOP fought Medicare too. It is the same, just uglier now.

I need affordable health insurance. My husband is laid off, at 63 we are pretty much uninsurable, just for age. One of our TN Congressman just said nonone without insurance wants insurance, I wish he would talk to me!
