Pill Boxes and Technology
So many patients don't know the names of their medications. Furthermore, many don't know what each pill is treating. This is especially true among the elderly who may take over 10 pills each day.
Fortunately, pill boxes have gotten much more sophisticated.
Some of these 'smart' pill boxes can alert patients and remind them to take their medications.
Some patients are using mobile phone solutions that use built-in alerts and alarms to remind people to take their pills. You can also the camera on your phone to take pictures of your pills. Type in the name of your medication and keep a record on you all the time that way. These days almost everyone uses a mobile phone, so this may be a very practical alternative.
What will the future look like? Talking pill boxes that speak the names of each medicine?
