Congratulations! I am considering getting an MPH degree in the near future. I am looking for some insider information about how the degree benefits you as an MD, and what types of international work opportunities are available in the public health field. Also, are there huge differences between programs depending on the university? How do I find out the strengths and weaknesses of different programs? Thanks! Medicienne
Thanks! I would say some key differences include: 1. cost of tuition 2. whether or not you need to spend any time on campus with the distance learning programs. 3. the reputation of the school. 4. accreditation by the ASPH.
Hi! I was wondering how you like the program at U Mass, would you recommend it to others. I am applying for distance MPH programs right now. I am going to apply to UNC and Medical College of Wisconsin and I am considering UMASS. Just wondering if you have any advice or thoughts on the program...
I really enjoyed my UMass MPH experience. The one thing I missed were the lectures. Some of the other schools offer webcast lectures (multimedia) so that you can "sit" in the classroom. However, if you're an independent learner and like to read on your own, then you won't need lectures.

You can ask different students about their experiences. UMass is 100% online, so you don't have to spend any time on campus.
