Winner of CardioEngagement Challenge to be Announced at HIMSS12

Award contestants asked to create game-changing way for patients to better manage their cardiovascular health

The CardioEngagement Challenge was launched by Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation (NPC) last September to support the vision of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to drive innovation into the health care delivery model. In partnership with Health 2.0, Novartis asked the brightest minds in health IT to develop an interactive solution that enables and engages patients to better manage their cardiovascular health. A panel of judges from the Department of Health & Human Services, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, NPC, and other healthcare organizations selected four semi-finalists in a first round of judging: MedRespond, Sensei, Worrell, and mHealthCoach™. Each semi-finalist team was awarded $15,000 and given the opportunity to further develop their entry.

The winner of the competition will be announced by NPC at a VIP Awards Ceremony at the HIMSS12 Annual Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas and awarded $100,000 to develop their idea.

The CardioEngagement Challenge is part of the Health 2.0 Developer Challenge program that is designed to spur innovations in the use of technology to improve health care outcomes.
