The FDA has been on leveraging social media to alert consumers and healthcare professionals about recalls (@FDArecalls). Now, the FDA has a new Twitter profile focused on prescription drug alerts (@FDA_Drug_Info).

It's great to see how some key organizations are leveraging social media to communicate with consumers and healthcare professionals. Let's hope that more physicians embrace social media so that they can stay current on alerts, warnings, and other important medical news.
